Tacoma Trauma Services is a busy level II urban trauma center providing
the full spectrum of trauma services to our community. Our team consists
of surgeons who are fellowship trained in trauma and surgical critical
care, and 6 mid-level providers with significant experience in trauma.
We are seeking an additional PA-C to join our team.
Our Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) participate in all phases of
care, to include initial resuscitation in the ED, operative first assist,
care of inpatients, and follow-up in our outpatient clinic.
In addition to trauma, we have a growing emergency/general surgery practice
which affords an opportunity for more first assisting. This
is a position which allows you to work to the limits of your abilities,
and continually improve.
In house call is required, but the schedule allows extended periods
of time off, and averages about 45 hrs/wk.
Tacoma is about 45 minutes south of Seattle on the Puget Sound; with
mild weather and the best of city life and the outdoors at your doorstep.
The ideal candidate will have hospital based experience in surgery,
and/or have completed a surgical residency. You will receive a very

Good Samaritan Medical Center ED has an opening for a full-time Physician
Assistant. The position is split between Express Care (our fast track area),
and the Rapid Assessment Program (an innovative program with a PA and Nurse
working adjacent to the triage area, to rapidly initiate diagnostics and
treatment before patient registration). Express Care shifts are 8am - 4pm
and 4pm – midnight. RAP shifts are 10am – 8p. The clinical obligation is
for 1,728 hours per year. The ED group is fourteen full-time emergency
physicians and five full-time mid-level providers. A Minimum of 2 years

working under the supervision of attending surgeons. The qualified
candidate will perform a variety of duties in the assessment, work-up,
and treatment of patients, providing quality patient care, and serves as

functions as a first assistant to the surgeon in the operating room as
well as work with a team of seven PAs with rotation of on-call responsibilities.
The incumbent will present concise but complete patient information and

results, and discharge planning. They will also perform specialized
procedures outside the operating room including dressing changes, minor
wound care, suturing of minor wounds and others.
The successful candidate is a graduate of an AAPA-accredited Physician
Assistant program. Prior surgical experience is strongly desired,

rounds, injections and first assists. This full-time position requires
on-call and weekends on a rotating basis. Successful candidate should
